TO LIVE OUR DREAMS, WE NEED TO BE CLEAR ABOUT OUR GOALS AND HAVE ENOUGH STRENGTH TO FIGHT FOR THEM EVERY DAY.

Some days, we do not feel in the mood of taking care of our duties, waking up for work or even school at 7:00 am. But we also have goals and to achieve them, we need to put in an extra effort during the day. I think that force is essential in everyone’s life. I see force in will power.

A few months ago, a new year started, and with it, new purposes for everybody. We all want different things, searching for different results. Maybe some of us are looking for a new job, others are working on the body they have always wanted, are longing to get accepted in their dream school, buy a brand new car, and so on.

To achieve our goals we need to be very clear about what we need to do: maybe we will need to wake up earlier or get two jobs. A plan is required and then stick to it no matter what.

Keep in mind that we can all achieve everything we want. Never let others tell you that you can’t, even if they are your parents or close friends. FORCE!  WE HAVE TO BELIEVE IN OURSELVES. FORCE! Let’s make this year the good one, the one we get everything we ever wanted.

Solidarity Song
by Bertolt Brecht

Peoples of the world, together
Join to serve the common cause!
So it feeds us all for ever
See to it that it’s now yours.

Forward, without forgetting
Where our strength can be seen now to be!
When starving or when eating
Forward, not forgetting
Our solidarity!

Black or white or brown or yellow
Leave your old disputes behind.
Once start talking with your fellow
Men, you’ll soon be of one mind.

Forward, without forgetting
Where our strength can be seen now to be!
When starving or when eating
Forward, not forgetting
Our solidarity!

If we want to make this certain
We’ll need you and your support.
It’s yourselves you’ll be deserting
if you rat your own sort.

Forward, without forgetting
Where our strength can be seen now to be!
When starving or when eating
Forward, not forgetting
Our solidarity!

All the gang of those who rule us
Hope our quarrels never stop
Helping them to split and fool us
So they can remain on top.

Forward, without forgetting
Where our strength can be seen now to be!
When starving or when eating
Forward, not forgetting
Our solidarity!

Workers of the world, uniting
Thats the way to lose your chains.
Mighty regiments now are fighting
That no tyranny remains!

Forward, without forgetting
Till the concrete question is hurled
When starving or when eating:
Whose tomorrow is tomorrow?
And whose world is the world?

Bertolt Brecht (1898-1956) was a German playwright and poet. He is one of the main proponents of the epic theatre or dialectical theatre.

Strenght
by Ella Wheeler Wilcox

Who is the strong? Not he who puts to test
His sinews with the strong and proves the best;
But he who dwells where weaklings congregate,
And never lets his splendid strength abate.

Who is the good? Not he who walks each day
With moral men along the high, clean way;
But he who jostles gilded sin and shame,
Yet will not sell his honour or his name.

Who is the wise? Not he who from the start
With Wisdom’s followers has taken part;
But he who looks in Folly’s tempting eyes,
And turns away, perceiving her disguise.

Who is serene? Not he who flees his kind,
Some mountain fastness, or some cave to find;
But he who in the city’s noisiest scene,
Keeps calm within - he only is serene.

Ella Wheeler Wilcox (1850-1919) was an American poet. Some of her more renowned works are Poems of Passion and Solitude.

Annette Davidek is an American artist living in NY whose organic abstractions and botanical forms provide a metaphor between the social and organic worlds as they explore the potency of nature and might suggest the search for the strength in community ties and social interaction. Beauty
by Ralph Waldo Emerson

Was never form and never face
So sweet to SEYD as only grace
Which did not slumber like a stone,
But hovered gleaming and was gone.
Beauty chased he everywhere,
In flame, in storm, in clouds of air.
He smote the lake to feed his eye
With the beryl beam of the broken wave;
He flung in pebbles well to hear
The moment’s music which they gave.
Oft pealed for him a lofty tone
From nodding pole and belting zone.
He heard a voice none else could hear
From centred and from errant sphere.
The quaking earth did quake in rhyme,
Seas ebbed and flowed in epic chime.
In dens of passion, and pits of woe,
He saw strong Eros struggling through,
To sun the dark and solve the curse,
And beam to the bounds of the universe.
While thus to love he gave his days
In loyal worship, scorning praise,
How spread their lures for him in vain
Thieving Ambition and paltering Gain!
He thought it happier to be dead,
To die for Beauty, than live for bread.

Ralph Waldo Emerson (1803-1882) was an American essayist, philosopher, and poet. He led the Transcendentalist movement which believes in the inherent goodness of people and nature.
